IMPORTANCE OF FORESTS

Why forests are important?

  1. Other than for their beauty, forests are highly responsible in keeping and sustaining global ecosystems.
  2. In fact, much of the quality of life we enjoy, we owe to the forests.
  3. It is also the home of more than half of all creatures and organisms in this planet.
  4. From food to life-saving medicines, forests give mankind a variety of gifts that contribute much to our quality of life.

It is not possible to sum up the importance of forests in just a few words. Forests impact on our daily lives in so many ways, even in the midst of a busy, noisy, concrete city centre. Despite our dependence on forests, we are still allowing them to disappear.
